- At the sound of the first bell, students will proceed to the place of assembly. At the sound of the second bell, they will remain in their respective lines.
- All have to attend the assembly. This includes the students, the teaching staff and the non-teaching staff.
- After the assembly, the students will go in silence to their respective classrooms and proceed with the school routine.
- Changing of classrooms in between periods should be done in silence and in an orderly way.
- Students are strictly forbidden to leave the school premises during school hours without the express permission of the principal. However, permission will be granted only after contacting the parents/localguardians even if the student in question brings a letter from the parents/local guardians. Hence the parents are requested to
ensure that the school has their latest phone number.
- Punctuality and regularity in attendance, wearing of the school uniform, earnest and diligent efforts in the home work assigned and polite behaviour inside and outside the school premises are necessary for the formation of character and to create a suitable environment for learning. The school authorities, therefore, will always insist on these points and expect the full cooperation of the parents and the students to achieve these goals.
- The students who come to the school without proper uniform will not be allowed to attend class on that day.
- Since Sir Syed International School is an English Medium institution, students must speak English in the school premises.
- Students must observe cleanliness within and
- outside the classrooms. They should have a decent hair style that is becoming.
- Students who absent themselves regularly from classes must explain in writing to the Principal the reason for their absence.
- It is highly desirable that leave applications reach the school before the classes begin. Every leave application must be recorded in the diary of the student. Before the zero period begins they shall be submitted to the concerned class teachers, who will mark the entries accordingly in the attendance register and pass the mon to the Principal. If the application does not reach the school before the classes commence, the student will be marked as absent.
- Every leave application must be signed by the parent or local guardian and recorded in the school diary of the student.
- Every diary must bear the signature of the parents guardian at the spot assigned for the same.
- Since school diary is very important for the students, they are expected to purchase it from the office in the beginning of the academic year.
- Every student is expected to have an identity card, signed by the principal, which will bear the latest essential information about him/her.
- Students must rejoin classes, after any holidays, on the reopening day. Breach of this rule will be considered a punishable offence. Moreover an absence of three continuous days from the day of reopening can result in the loss of his/her seat.
- Students are required to produce a medical certificate from an M.B.BS. doctor if they have absented themselves from school because of illness.
- A pupil returning to school after undergoing an infectious/contagious disease should produce a doctor’s certificate declaring him/her fit to attend classes after the prescribed period of quarantine.
- No late-comer will be allowed to attend classes. She/he will be asked to go home immediately at the risk of the parents/guardians.
- Parents are requested not to send any food item to their wards in the school through other relatives or servants.
- Camera, mobile, pager, transistor radio, periodicals, newspapers comics or any literature that is of objectionable or distracting nature shall not be brought into the school premises. Also students are not permitted to bring any sharp instrument such as knife paper cutter etc. They may be confiscated and appropriate punishment awarded.
- Students are not allowed to wear any costly jewellery or to bring any expensive tem to the school.
- Pupils are responsible for the safe custody of their bicycles, books, umbrellas, rain coats, tiffin boxes or any other personal belongings. The school takes no responsibility for the loss of the same. To prevent the loss it is advisable to mark the articles with the student’s name, class and section.
- Proper care must be taken of all school property. Noone should scratch or spoil any school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls or in any way damage school property.
- Any damage done the school building or furniture shall be made good by the student(s) concerned. The decision of the school authorities regarding the compensation and fine to be paid shall be final.
- Any damage done, even accidentally, whether in the laboratories or library should be at once reported and the damages made good.
- Any student caught carrying any weapon, attacking with any weapon, consuming any alcoholic beverage, smoking, or taking away the belongings of others shall bee xpelled from the Academy.
- Parents who visit the school during school hours are to make known the purpose of their visit in the office that they can be attended to. They should not proceed to the class rooms and disturb the teaching. Nor are they expected to contact students or interview any member of the staff without the consent of the Principal.
- Parents are expected to sign the teacher’s or the principal’s remarks in the diary after reading them. Failure to do this may put their children to great inconvenience.
- The School authorities will strictly deal with all cases of indiscipline. Since discipline is the observance of good conduct by a student, breach of discipline, then, inter-alia includes the following:
- (a) Irregularity in attendance, persistent negligence or indifference to the work assigned.
- (b) Causing disturbance in a class or in the office or in the library or in any programme or function organised in the school or by the school.
- c) Disobeying the instructions of the teachers or any other authorities of the school.
- (d) Misconduct or misbehaviour of any kind at the time of curricular or extra-curricular activities.
- (e) Misconduct or misbehaviour of any kind at the examinations, or inter-school competitions, games etc.
- (f) Misconduct or misbehaviour or any kind to wards a teacher or any employee of the school.
- (g) Causing damage to the furniture or any property of the school or abetting others to perpetrate any unlawful act.
- (h) Spreading misleading reports or rumours among the students.
- (1) Loitering or loafing around in the School Campus.
- (i) Using abusive language.
- (k) Smoking, consuming drugs or alcoholic drinks.
- (l) Attitude of non-seriousness towards studies and school programmes.
- (m) Any other conduct or behaviour anywhere which is considered unbecoming of a student.
GAMES
(a) Regular games are compulsory during class days for all the children under the supervision of the school staff. Physical education is very important for the balanced growth of the youngsters, and so all possible attention is to be paid to it both during school hours and afterwards. Games for the primary classes are held during school hours and for higher classes in the evening. Attendance is marked by the games secretary and pupils absenting themselves are fined a rupee per day.
(b) Football, Basketball, Hockey, Volleyball, Badminton, Throw ball, Kabaddi, Weight- lifing, Yoga, Table Tennis, and other similar games from the routine of physical training and teaching skills in games according to the session.
RULES CONCERNING ABSENCE
(a) A written application stating the reason for such absence is required.
(b) Leave will be granted only on the following grounds:
For two wedding in a year whereas leave application must be submitted to the Principal before two days.
On medical ground, provided the application is supported by a medical certificate. After three days of absence from school, the pupil must bring a medical certificate from a qualified doctor such as (M.B.BS/ENT/ Eye specialist/BDS Dentist). No other medical certificate will be acceptable.
Children who are late in joining school following the long holiday i.e. July and January, will have their names struck of the rolls after a week, unless the principal’s prior permission has been obtained. In such cases a re-admission fee of Rs. 500/- will be charged.
(c) No one who is late or has been absent on the previous day will be allowed to enter the class without producing an application duly signed by the parent or guardian.
(d) Leave of absence is not granted except on prior written application from parents/guardian (except in unforeseen circumstances), and then only for serious reasons.
(e) Absence from school prior to test may adversely affect student’s grade in the tests and no re-test will be taken.
(f) Absence for 10 days without leave renders the pupil liable to have his/her name stuck off the rolls. Readmission will be subject to the availability of seat and on payment of a fresh admission fee.
N.B. Students are warned not to bring outsiders with them to the school premises. If any outsider is found loitering in the campus or indulging in acts that are not in conformity with the educational atmosphere of the school appropriate action will be taken. Also strict disciplinary action will be taken against the students who bring them.
DISMISSAL
The school reserves the right to dismiss a student whose performance in studies is steadily unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to the other students. Immorality, grave insubordination or contempt of authority is always a sufficient reason for immediate dismissal.
Visits & Participation by Parents
The Principal may be contacted between 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on all school days during the summer and between 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. during the winter after making an appointment over the telephone.
We are always happy to have parental help in school perhaps listening to children reading, reading stories to them or helping with craft work. Infact, if you have a skills and some spare time the school would welcome your participation.
